Happy International Women’s Day
8th March 2026

On this special occasion, we invite you to celebrate the courage, creativity, and quiet strength of women in the funeral profession through the Manifesto of Visibility and Voice project. The FIAT-IFTA Global Education Committee has already received inspiring submissions from Peru, Spain, and Poland — and we hope many more will follow.
The very first submission to the Manifesto came from Micaela Dongo, Commercial Director of Jardines de la Paz. Representing the third generation of leadership in her family’s organisation, she shared something simple, yet profoundly moving: a photograph of her boyfriend’s grandmother’s hands at 101 years old. A century of life held gently in a single frame. Love given and received. Grief carried. Traditions passed on. Her submission reminds us that leadership in funeral service is not only about management — it is about humanity. It is about creating space for grief, vulnerability and compassion, both for families and for the teams who walk alongside them.

Her message to other women in the profession considering taking part in the Manifesto Project is clear:
- You don’t need to be an artist.
- You don’t need professional photography skills.
- You don’t need to write something long or elaborate.
What matters is honesty. Reflection. Heart.
On this International Women’s Day, we warmly invite you to participate. Share your perspective. Your image. Your words. Your truth. Every story adds a vital thread to our shared narrative.
